The Canon RF 50 mm F1.4L VCM is a high-performance hybrid prime lens engineered for both photographers and videographers using Canon RF-mount full-frame bodies. Its 50 mm focal length offers a natural field of view that is perfect for portraits, reportage, and cinematic work.Thanks to its bright f/1.4 aperture, the lens excels in low‑light environments and delivers beautiful depth‑of‑field control, enabling creamy bokeh and strong subject separation.Autofocus is powered by a combination of Nano USM and Voice Coil Motor (VCM), giving you very fast yet smooth and quiet focusing — ideal for seamless transitions in video and stills. The lens construction includes two aspherical elements and one UD (Ultra-Low Dispersion) element, helping deliver sharp, chromatically controlled image quality. For pro‑video control, there is a dedicated Iris Ring (clickless) allowing smooth manual aperture pulls, plus a Control Ring and a customisable Lens Function Button for on-lens setting adjustments.  The 11-blade circular aperture also helps create smooth, pleasing bokeh and highlight rendition. Durability is built in via L-series weather sealing, and the front element has a fluorine coating to prevent dust and smudging. Despite its L-series performance, it’s relatively compact and lightweight compared to other L primes — making it very usable on gimbals or handheld setups.
