The Canon RF 50mm F1.8 STM is a classic “nifty fifty” prime lens designed for Canon’s full-frame RF-mount mirrorless bodies. Its 50 mm focal length offers a natural, neutral perspective, making it ideal for portraits, street photography, and everyday shots.With a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture, this lens handles low-light situations well and enables pleasing background blur (bokeh) for subject separation. It also features a configurable control ring, which lets you assign functions like ISO, exposure compensation, or aperture directly on the lens. Optically, the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM uses 6 elements in 5 groups, including one aspherical element to maintain sharpness across the frame.  It has Super Spectra Coating to reduce flare and ghosting, improving contrast and color rendering. The 7‑blade rounded diaphragm helps produce smooth bokeh for portraits and creative shots. The lens can focus as close as 0.30 m, with a maximum magnification of 0.25×, allowing for slightly tighter shots than more basic kit lenses.
